Guided Excursion to Sammallahdenmäki
Sammallahdenmäki was the first archaeological site in Finland to be selected for UNESCO's World Heritage List. It is located in Lappi Village, about 20 km from the center of Rauma. Sammallahdenmäki is situated in the middle of the forest, so exploration is always on foot. The guide leads the group along forest paths to this ancient site preserved from the Bronze Age. Within an area of less than a kilometer, there are 36 different shaped and sized burial cairns. Stories enliven the guidance, and the silence of the forest and nature enchant.
